Small, rather unknown pass between South Tyrol and Trentino. On the western, South Tyrolean side of Laurein over alpine meadows and light forest with a moderate gradient of a maximum of 8%, easy to reach the top of the pass. From the Trentino side a little steeper, but also with a maximum of 10% and winding, partly with a very nice view up to the inconspicuous pass in the forest.

A classic Alpine crossing for mountain bikers is the Rabbijoch. From the Ultental valley, the route climbs through an impressive cirque to the Bärhap-Alm (2,295m). A small stream meanders alongside the path in the valley floor. Large, scattered boulders serve as a reminder that even mountains are not eternal. You wouldn't want to be hit by such a colossus in a rockfall. Shortly after the alpine pasture, the gravel road becomes very steep for a short climb, which for most riders means pushing the bike. Later, the path turns into a singletrack. Here, you can ride some sections, but often you'll have to push as well. After the last pushing section, you reach the high plateau where the Rabbijoch (2,460m) is situated. From here, it's all downhill. First, you descend to the Haselgruber Hütte (overnight accommodation; delicious, simple food). From the hut, a very beautiful, flowing singletrack trail continues downhill along the mountainside. Be careful – there can be many hikers on this section. From 2016 onwards, there's a change to the route. The heavily eroded section further down is now closed to bikers, and the path reverts to gravel. Given the truly devastated state of the trail, this isn't a major issue. Finally, the route continues on asphalt to Val di Rabbi.
