It presents, on a 1:1 scale, a night watchman named Bartel and his cat, who lived in Löcknitz about 120 years ago. The sculpture project was created in 2001 in connection with the reconstruction of Ernst Thälmann Street and the need to enrich the space in front of the Office with an element of art. Five artists were invited to the competition. The work chosen was Thomas Jastram, who demonstrated an excellent understanding of the city's history and a sense of humor.
