Unfortunately, it is not open to the public! The Groß Gievitz manor house is a baroque manor house situated in an idyllic park. The original building probably dates from the first half of the 18th century (around 1730), while the surviving stables were built around 1700.

The settlement likely originated in the 13th century through Westphalian farmers and knights in an area originally settled by Slavs called Schlön. The name derives from the Old Slavic word "gvoru" (water bubble) and roughly translates to "village by the lake." Groß Gievitz was first documented in 1316 in a land division agreement between Princes Johann II and Henning von Werle.

The inspector's house, one of the best-preserved buildings of the former estate, was built in 1756 and remodeled in 1908. The listed building still features original stucco ceilings and parts of the wood paneling.

The landscape park of Varchentin Castle was laid out in 1838 by the Prussian garden architect Peter Joseph Lenné. The park extends to the lake and includes an artificial canal connecting the Great and Little Varchentin Lakes, which, however, has dried up due to a lowered groundwater level.

The village church of Schloen is a charming and historic church located in the small town of Schloen in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. This church is a fine example of rural architecture and reflects the religious and cultural history of the region. Often built in the Brick Gothic or Baroque style, such village churches have witnessed much over the centuries. Today, they serve not only as places of worship but also as cultural heritage, attracting visitors and locals alike.

To the west of Torgelow Castle is the relic of a rectangular, medieval tower hill castle. Only two sections of the former moat remain. The hill extends about two meters above the moat.
