Stocksee is an idyllic lake in Holstein Switzerland. Surrounded by forests, meadows, and rolling hills, the 1.3-square-kilometer body of water is ideal for swimming, canoeing, hiking, and biking. Particularly beautiful: the Stockseehof with its park, rhododendron blossoms, and events.

A gem on the large Plön Lake

The hilly landscape of Holstein Switzerland was formed when melting ice left behind masses of rock, causing water to collect in the depressions. This is how the Great Plön Lake, one of many bodies of water in the Holstein Switzerland Nature Park, was formed. Numerous animal species call this area home; with a bit of luck, you might spot kingfishers, otters, or even a white-tailed eagle. In addition to the diverse natural landscape, Holstein Switzerland also offers cultural highlights such as castles, manor houses, and estates. Pure relaxation and lots of peace and quiet Hardly any tourists

This oak tree is impressive with an estimated trunk diameter of about 2 meters, which means it could possibly be almost 500 years old (https://www.baumportal.de/baum-alter-bestimmen). If I come by here again, I will measure it.
