The Old Airfield (formerly Maurice Rose Airfield) in Frankfurt's Green Belt is a former American military airfield used until 1992. It covers an area of approximately 4.5 hectares and lies within the districts of Frankfurt-Bonames and Frankfurt-Kalbach-Riedberg. After its closure, it was transformed into a nature and recreation area in 2003/04 by the "Green Belt" project group and the GTL Landscape Architects office, for which they received the German Landscape Architecture Prize in 2005.

This beautiful spot can be perfectly planned into a cycle tour along the Nidda for a leisurely stop. From various non-alcoholic as well as alcoholic drinks to the veggie burger and the currywurst to the classic portion of fries, there is everything you need for a break here. Sitting comfortably in the fresh air on spacious benches makes the retreat very relaxing and, if necessary, also very sociable. Very nice trail. There are 2 entrances. It is best to drive several times. It's a lot of fun.
