The Old Airfield (formerly Maurice Rose Airfield) in Frankfurt's Green Belt is a former American military airfield used until 1992. It covers an area of approximately 4.5 hectares and lies within the districts of Frankfurt-Bonames and Frankfurt-Kalbach-Riedberg. After its closure, it was transformed into a nature and recreation area in 2003/04 by the "Green Belt" project group and the GTL Landscape Architects office, for which they received the German Landscape Architecture Prize in 2005.

This beautiful spot can be perfectly planned into a cycle tour along the Nidda for a leisurely stop. From various non-alcoholic as well as alcoholic drinks to the veggie burger and the currywurst to the classic portion of fries, there is everything you need for a break here. Sitting comfortably in the fresh air on spacious benches makes the retreat very relaxing and, if necessary, also very sociable. In the high season, it is open Tuesday to Sunday from around 11:00 a.m. to around 4:00 p.m. Monday is a rest day. This information is not guaranteed, I asked for it. Please inform in advance whether it is actually open or pack an emergency energy bar ;)

Very nice trail. There are 2 entrances. It is best to drive several times. It's a lot of fun.
