The "Gatehouse in Rethwisch" refers to the gatehouse of the former Rethwischhof estate in the Stormarn district, which no longer exists, as the manor house was demolished in 2023. It is part of the estate's historical heritage and a starting and finishing point for a short hike, even though today only the gatehouse of the original estate can be seen.

The place doesn't look spectacular. After reading the information board, one can imagine the tower hill castle in this place.

The park-like facility with its old stock of trees is particularly striking - otherwise the castle locks itself off.

The Motte Rethwisch, also called Motte am Lustberg, is a former tower hill castle (Motte) in the lowlands of Spolsau in the Lustberg grove on the northern edge of the village of Rethwisch, a district of the municipality Lehmkuhlen in the district of Plön in Schleswig-Holstein. It is not known who built and inhabited the moth, which was probably built in the 12th century. A noble fiefdom has been handed down to Redewysche. A family of Rethwisch was originally located here.
