Due to a technical defect, the transporter bridge is out of service until further notice. Visit the WSV website for more information. Use the Nobiskrug ferry. Two ferries operate there. ✅

A small update on the ferry. The old ferry is currently still running, but this will soon be replaced by a solar ferry. The price of the ferry with a bicycle has increased to 1.50 euros. Still reasonable, in my opinion.

For currently 1.5 euros per bike with a person you can get across. Luckily the old ferry is still running

The bridge is currently not passable: Information from the train to the Lindaunisbrücke: The bridge has been closed to passers-by since March 6, 2023. In the period that follows, we dismantle the folding part and set up the temporary bridge for pedestrians and cyclists. It is planned to complete this work in Dec. 2023. The section on the steep coast is not accessible. Only pushing is allowed!! I would leave the bike next time and explore the cliffs on foot. I see some places as daring to cross with an e-bike. But it's still fantastically beautiful there and worth a visit!

A great way to cross the Kiel Canal. The transporter bridge (originally built in 1913 and renewed in 2022) is not only available for pedestrians and bicycles, but can also carry up to 4 cars. Use is free for everyone.

The monument protection for the 1924 bascule bridge, on which cars and trains shared a lane, was lifted. This made the bridge 99 years old. The new building is in the same place.
