A 1.3 km detour from Kalkhorster Straße - opposite Hof Hoher Schönberg - on firm forest paths - no signs or boards, but it's worth it.

The inscription is a quote by William Wordsworth (English Romantic poet 1770-1850) and reads “Step out into the light of things and let nature be your teacher” from his work “The Tables Turned” of 1798.

The Schlossgut Groß Schwansee is a manor house located in the Groß Schwansee district of the Kalkhorst municipality in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, built in the 18th century in the Baroque style and rebuilt in the Neo-Classical style. The manor house has served as a hotel and conference center since 2004. In the afternoon, the brasserie's sun terrace invites you to enjoy coffee and cake, weather permitting.
