The Nagold-Altensteig railway line, the first narrow-gauge railway of the Royal Württemberg State Railways, was opened on December 29, 1891, and closed in 1967. Admission to the Altensteigerle monument is free.

The Forest Sphere was created in 2012 as part of the State Garden Show in Nagold. It has remained ever since – as a symbol of the recurring nature of wood and its renewable resource. In the evenings, the Forest Sphere is illuminated in vibrant colors.

This chapel of thanksgiving, dedicated to the Mother of God, was built in 1946 from stones from the former Eutingen military airfield. The forest chapel is a popular destination, not only for the Christians of Baisingen.

Cool racetrack, always in circles & well developed...

It's nice to avoid Herrenberger Straße for a while. Unfortunately, the path doesn't extend all the way to the city center, so if you don't want to wind your way through the residential area, you still have to take the aforementioned Herrenberger Straße in the lower section, which is extremely unpleasant due to the heavy traffic. Therefore, I usually prefer to take the (brutally steep) Eisbergsteige for the ascent, where you're completely safe from traffic. You'd better cut down a few kilometers on the descent, because the path is too narrow for the potential speed you could achieve.
