A beautiful cycling route, even in early spring.

The "Auguste" mill is a smock mill built in 1874, featuring a wind rose and shuttered sails. Julius Lemke purchased the mill in 1917, and it has remained in the family ever since. Until 1958, grain was milled using wind power before being converted to electric operation to allow milling even on windless days. Beautiful spot with a jetty for swimming and fishing. There is also an idyllic view of the lake and the surrounding nature.

A Stegel (Stegelsch) is a historical stile built from field stones to be able to climb over fences and bends in cattle pastures.

There is a covered picnic opportunity at the wildlife enclosure in Hegenholt.

The historic windmill from 1874 is now used for weddings and as a guesthouse building complex. Their location allows for good photos.

Windmill Auguste, very nice to look at. The Auguste windmill in Groß Wittensee is certainly the tourist attraction in the small town between Eckernförde and Rendsburg and is therefore part of the Hüttener Berge nature park. The windmill is a cellar Dutch windmill, which is now functional again and can also be operated.
