Loben自然保護区の全域では、とりわけ、湿地の歴史に関する多くの情報板が見られます。もう一つのハイライトは、高さ5メートルの展望台です。木製の遊歩道が湿地へと続いています。

The 35-hectare protected forest – located northeast of you – preserves and develops an old, groundwater-influenced forest site as a near-natural research area, strengthens the natural balance, protects endangered plants and animals, and simultaneously maintains its unique character and scenic beauty. As a valuable section of the vegetation mosaics typical of the Lusatian Lowlands, consisting of pine, spruce-pine, and birch-pedunculate oak forests, as well as a mesotrophic-acidic fen, it is being scientifically studied in the long term without direct human intervention.

Even in winter, a visit to this platform and a walk along the moorland path are worthwhile. The tall grasses and tree stumps have a mystical quality amidst the icy and snowy landscape.

Fruit growing has a long tradition in Hohenleipisch and the surrounding area. Due to the south-facing, warm location of the orchards, and especially the shallow boulder till found in the fields of Kraupa, Dreska, Hohenleipisch, Dölingen, and Plessa, fruit growing has been practiced for many decades.
