The current Protestant church in Heuchelheim was built around 1500 and is dedicated to Saint Oswald. Saint Oswald is the patron saint of the Franks, to whom Heuchelheim's settlement likely dates back. However, the foundations and parts of the choir actually date back to a previous church dating back to the 13th century. In 1765, the nave burned down in a fire. This church was presumably also previously covered with a cross vault, but today this can only be seen in the choir. During the reconstruction of the nave, a Rococo ceiling was finally installed. During renovation work in the 1960s, wall paintings from the 13th and 14th centuries were uncovered in the choir. These depict, among others, the apostles Peter and Paul.
