At the mountain station you have a beautiful view of the surroundings, Vianden, the castle, the Ourthe and the cable car.

I like to recommend a hike from Vianden to Falkenstein Castle over the ridge. You can't get to the castle. But the way is awesome!

Even if you only get to the gate. The path is incredibly great and recommendable.

From the dam wall at the pumped storage power plant you can enjoy a wonderful view of Vianden Castle.

Vianden Castle is definitely worth a visit. The individual epochs with the respective changes are very well documented and explained. From the beginning as a Roman castle to today. You should bring some time with you.

The Ourtal is always a guarantee for a varied hike in the delux nature trail. A grandiose, ancient low mountain range runs through the Ourtal. The Our proves to be a true master of landscape design. The rocky Grenzsteig along the Lätges mountain with magnificent views provides an almost alpine experience. After so much ups and downs, the Ourtalstausee - the lower basin of the pumped storage power plant - invites you to take a relaxing stroll with its promenade and the Ourstaden von Bivels. The ruins of Falkenstein Castle are enthroned on a mountain rock high above the Ourschleife. A few steps downriver resides the medieval town of Vianden with its rebuilt castle - one of the most important and mighty castles in Europe.
