The castle is open daily during the summer from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. During the rest of the year, the gates close at 4:00 p.m. Adults pay €6 for the tour, and children (6-12 years) pay €2.

Vianden Castle, located in Vianden in the north of Luxembourg, is one of the largest fortified castles west of the Rhine. With origins dating from the 10th century, the castle was built in the Romanesque style from the 11th to 14th centuries. Gothic transformations and trimmings were added at the end of this period.

The palace, built from the 11th to the 14th centuries on the foundations of a Roman fort and a Carolingian refuge, was owned by the Grand Ducal family for a long time until it came into state ownership in 1977. After that time it was restored and shines in its old splendor. Today Vianden Castle is one of the most important architectural monuments in Europe.
