This replica of the Electorate of Saxony postal milepost stands in front of the Pulsnitz shooting range (the original inscription block and coat of arms from 1731 are in the town hall).

Rastplatz Reichenbach

In front of the Schützenhaus there is a sandstone post mile post. It is a copy of the original post from 1731, erected in 2005. It was originally located in front of the Obertor on what is now Julius-Kühn-Platz near the Löwen-Apotheke. The original block of writing from the old post mile post has been restored and is located in the town hall entrance. "The rooms of the former municipal office no longer corresponded to the conditions at the time. The rooms were too narrow and too small. So it was decided to build a new town hall, the cornerstone of which was laid on May 27, 1908. Over a year later, on September 22, 1909, the inauguration of the Art Nouveau town hall in Großröhrsdorf took place. The idea of converting the village into a town grew among the residents. In 1873, the 1832 town ordinance was revised. After that, the residents of Großröhrsdorf demanded that an application be submitted to the Ministry of the Interior in Dresden to convert the village into a town. There were repeated discussions about this in the municipal council, but the idea was not taken up again until February 18, 1924. A month later, it was unanimously decided to submit an application. The ministry inspected the place and the administration and the application was subsequently approved. In a decree of July 10, 1924, the community was now allowed to call itself a "city". The wonderful little church in the cemetery in Reichenbach celebrated its 270th anniversary in 2019. It was built on the foundations of the previous church, but was a little bigger. The congregation at the time needed more space to be able to celebrate their services with everyone.
