The fountain dominates the square opposite the town hall.

On the side of the town hall is the carillon, consisting of fifteen bells. These symbolize the 15 districts of Bad Rodach. The watershed between the Rhine and Weser rivers runs near Bad Rodach, more precisely near Grattstadt, along the CO4 district road. Here, the catchment area of the two rivers divides, with the water flowing on one side via the Itz and the Main to the Rhine, and on the other side via the Werra to the Weser. The exact location of the watershed is marked by a tourist sign on the CO4 district road, which points to the nearby town of Grattstadt.

Billmuthausen was first mentioned in 1340 as Billmuthehusen. The village was essentially a manor. In 1840, Billmuthausen had 14 houses, a mill, and a church; by 1850, the village had 68 inhabitants. The mill had a milling and grinding mill, its own water and electricity supply, and a bakery.
