The Evangelical Lutheran Church of St. Nicholas in Heldritt, Upper Franconia, a part of Bad Rodach in the Coburg district, dates back to 1847 in its current form. As a daughter parish of Rodach, Heldritt was first mentioned in a brief from Pope Clement VI on March 24, 1350. On November 19, 1511, the parish received its own pastor and was elevated to an independent parish. The construction of a church is documented for 1474 to 1477. This included the construction of the base of the church tower and the choir. The church was under the patronage and burial place of the noble von Heldritt family. The Reformation was introduced in 1524. After the second Protestant Electoral Saxon church visitation in 1536, the vicarage of Grattstadt was placed under the care of the Heldritt pastor for better care.
