The Catholic church of St. Walburga is located directly opposite the Protestant church in Friesenheim. St. Walburga was built in 1740 as a dual church. It has been a purely Catholic church since 1885. The organ from 1763 is the only surviving Joseph Anton Onimus organ.

The church as it appears today is the result of an interior renovation carried out in 1988/89. It was given a floor made of Italian sandstone, which is similar to the local Flonheim sandstone. The celebration altar in the choir room is also made of this material, indeed it grows out of the ground, as it were, as a symbol of Christ, the foundation stone. Relics of Saint Blandinus and other holy Christian believers are walled into the altar. They remind us that those who share in the holy are themselves called to live holy lives, i.e. to follow Christ in everyday life. The ambo is also made of sandstone, built by Rainer Knussmann in 2001.
