This is the site of the Battle of Blackburn's Ford (also known as the Skirmish at Blackburn's Ford) which took place in 1861. It was an important battle in the Civil War and was the precursor to the First Battle of Bull Run.

This is the intersection of the First and Second Manassas Trail and the Brawner Trail. There is a parking lot at the trailhead, but no other amenities.

Hemlock Overlook Regional Park is a hilly 400-acre park in Virginia. A lot of the views and historical features are found along the hiking trails, which are a mixture of paved paths and singletrack trails.

Bull Run Regional Park and the entirety of northern Virginia is the site of a lot of Civil War history. As you bike the roads and highways in the neighboring towns and forest boundaries, keep your eyes peeled for Civil War sites and memorabilia on the sides of the roads.

Once known as Chopawamsic Recreation Area, Prince William Forest Park got its start as a children's relief camp during the Great Depression. These days the park is open for hiking, biking, and camping.
