The cradle of modern America. Jamestown was the site of the first settlement by English immigrants in 1607. The museum provides all the information you need to know about it through images, text, audio, and video. Absolutely informative and worthwhile, and a true highlight.

History museum that recreates a European settlement from 1607 with three ships and a Powhatan village.

Absolutely beautiful, it wasn't overcrowded or incredibly polluted. A very quiet place to visit if you want some time to yourself.

The Carrara marble monument stands on Ebertstrasse on the eastern edge of the Tiergarten, between the Brandenburg Gate and Lennéstrasse, opposite the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe. It reaches a total height of six metres, and the statue of the poet on a round base is 2.72 metres high. Three allegorical groups of figures are arranged on the stepped base: for lyrical poetry, a muse with a lyre and Eros; for dramatic poetry, a seated female figure with writing tools, next to her a genius with the downward-facing torch of death; for scientific research, a woman reading.

Virginia Capital Trail is a 25-mile trail that runs through Richmond and the surrounding counties. It is a mix of paved, traffic-free trails and some quiet country roads. This section is off-road and runs through beautiful farmland.
