Belmont Bay is a lovely stretch of water at the mouth of the Occoquan River. The bay is flanked by three nature reserves: Elizabeth Hartwell Mason Neck National Wildlife Refuge, Mason Neck State Park and the Occoquan Bay National Wildlife Refuge. Keep your eyes peeled for bald eagles and Great Blue Herons. It's also a popular place to go boating.

Beautiful fun town with nice places to stop and eat. A couple of gas stations with easy Gatorade if you need to top off, or places to stop and grab lunch if you have more time

Sooo beautiful and peaceful! Water is calm and easy. Great fun, very impressed with the facilities and options. Very busy but plenty of space on the lake so you never feel crowded.

Nice place to walk, you can rent a boat as well.

Nice climb out of The Plains headed toward Haymarket. Stiff rolling hills and the Hopewell gap crests before a nice fast descent.

This small pond makes a good rest stop. You'll find a few picnic tables for lunch, and if you have the time there is a short trail that leads to a viewpoint over the pond.

Burma Road is one of a few gravel rides available in the forest park. It's got an incline but nothing too steep so it makes for a good ride without being too taxing.
