Cycle-pedestrian section that retraces the "Strada Regia di Alemagna", an ancient route that connected Venice with Augusta in medieval times. Having crossed the Brennero, the road continued through the Pusteria up to Dobbiaco, passed Cimabanche and, having crossed the Cadore, descended along the Piave valley to Ponte nelle Alpi. From here it reached Serravalle and Conegliano, to cross the Piave at the Lovadina ford, until reaching the city of Treviso. It then proceeded on an embankment delimited by ditches, known as Terraglio, up to Mestre.

Santa Croce lake, the largest in the province of Belluno and the second largest in the Veneto region, is a natural lake formed by a landslide that closed the Val Lapisina, blocking the descent of the Piave river towards Vittorio Veneto and creating the Sella del Fadalto. Located in the Alpago area between Farra d'Alpago, Puos d'Alpago and Ponte nelle Alpi, on the border with the province of Treviso, it is a body of water that reflects the Alpago and Nevegal mountains on its crystalline waters. The villages along the banks still preserve examples of the typical architecture of terraced houses with roofs in stone slabs, straw and marsh reeds.
