The Upper Gate was built in the 14th century and renovated in the 16th century.

The large wall at the rear of the ruins has been reinforced. The keep is also now dilapidated. To prevent anyone from climbing the tower, the lower staircase has been removed.

Saunt Ulric Castle is the largest of the three ruins. It is currently undergoing partial renovation. A small section is cordoned off, and caution is advised in other areas. However, the keep is accessible.

A charming Alsatian village with approximately 4,700 inhabitants. The old town is well worth seeing with its colorful houses. Ribeauvillé is also very popular because of the hike to its three castle ruins that overlook the town.

The chapel of the manorial hospital is documented since 1346 and served as the burial place of the Ribeaupierre family, whose coat of arms can be seen on the remarkable pointed-arch keystone of the chancel. The building now serves as an exhibition space. Once the hospital chapel, it was purchased by the city and became a grain exchange and a small museum with numerous exhibits. Today, it hosts various exhibitions and is open to the public free of charge.

Most of the towers and parts of the city wall have been preserved on the side facing the Strengbach stream (in the south of the city). The Butcher's Tower stands prominently in the city center, separating the Old Town from the central part of the city.

The Butcher's Tower was built in 1260 and once separated the Upper and Lower Town. It owes its name to the slaughterhouse and the butcher's stalls that were set up in front of the tower.

Very nice to see history being preserved. You can experience the story of the town's life just by walking around and looking at various monuments.
