Easily accessible from Lapoutroie. Nice, quiet driveway with very nice views. There is very little local traffic here. At the top there is an interesting art project and a good descent to Freland.

What a beautiful place just before the hell of the First World War. The place was particularly magical in the light morning mist.

Built in 1889, it was destroyed by French bombing in 1934, then rebuilt and destroyed this time by German bombing in 1944. It was only rebuilt in 1990 by volunteers and you can climb up there to have a view impregnable.

Bog created by the melting of a glacier. It was discovered in 1442.

The Étang du Devin / Hexenweiher is a largely silted-up cirque lake on the north-east flank of the Buchenkopf / Tête des Faux. It is almost entirely covered by a treacherous swinging lawn (underneath is water and swamp) and is a protected area due to the rare flora.

This beautiful neo-Romanesque style church surprises inside by its size and the beautiful windows depicting scenes from the life of St. Odile. The church was built around 1912 and was located on the front line during World War I while the town was a base for the Bavarian Landjäger. According to the records of the local resident Haemmerle (war diary), the church was used several times as a military hospital.

From here, water was pumped from the Etang to the summit station.
