Very varied hiking area. A large oak forest and lakes with transition to the moor and the possibility of a visit to a castle with a museum.

A great route - the landscape is very impressive and also wildlife viewing is possible in the biotope (for example, herons, bird species). And of course on sunny days for photographers an absolute highlight.

    It is beautiful there!
For parking you drove at the SV Wesel to visit directly from there the south entrance!
There are only 2 entrances as the whole area is fenced.
It was like on vacation through the dunes! :)

Have today made a major tour where the moorland was part. It is a beautiful landscape and if you look closely you get to see one or the other karnivore (carnivorous plant). Species diversity not only for plants but also for animal lovers.

The path opens up a special perspective for a hiker as it leads through or over the moor.

This part of the circular walk is especially beautiful, as you follow it on a beautifully curved wooden path through the moorland with its picturesque flora. Especially geese attracted attention with shouts and overflights.

Depending on the weather, the boardwalk can be slippery and the forest floor muddy. That's why sturdy shoes are recommended.

.... did the tour today and it was really great. I was not at all clear, which beautiful corners we have here, near our place of residence.
But I would not hide a small downside, there is ONLY a single bank on the whole trail, too bad, I would very much like to sit down and enjoy the peace and quiet. The tour as such is definitely recommended.

In the moorland you can see herons, wild geese, ducks and many species of birds. The fantastic scenery invites you to linger, watch and take pictures.

If you like the combination of moorland and heathland, you will feel comfortable here and maybe even the Galgenvenn (near Kaldenkirchen, border with Holland) or the National Park Hoge Kempen (near Maasmechelen, Flanders in Belgium) want to see.

Experience an extraordinary landscape on the Lower Rhine. About ridges it goes through dunes, heath and moor in the middle of Diersford Forest near Wesel.
