Do not just look to the north on the Möhnesee - even the Arnsberg forest to the south is worth more than a glance with its area of almost 500 km².

The 42.5 m high Möhnesee Tower stands above the Möhnesee. The observation tower, which cost around 500,000 euros, was built in the summer and autumn of 2014 in a prominent location on one of the highest points near the Möhnesee. The Rennweg and the Sauerland Forest Route run directly past the tower on a shared route.
The viewing platform offers views of the reservoir, many districts of the Möhnesee community, parts of the Arnsberg Forest Nature Park and across to the Haarstrang mountain range. On clear days, the view extends north into the Westphalian Bay as far as the Teutoburg Forest and south to the heights of the Lenne Mountains. (wikipedia)
