Climb the summit and don't have a head for heights? No problem. You won't find a summit cross here, but you will find a summit marker. At 118.04 meters, Monte Troodelöh is the highest elevation in the city of Cologne.

The highest elevation of the city Cologne is the Monte Troodelöh mt 118,04 m over NNH.
The strange name of this `mountain` comes from the gentlemen: Troost, Dedden and Löhmer. So it came to this strange pun. This memorial stone was sponsored by a financial institution and set up with the help of a forestry administration. Everyone has the opportunity to register in the summit book. Really funny.

I am always grateful for the Sherpas who accompany me. I would never have managed it without them.
        ---
At 118.04 m above sea level, Monte Troodelöh is the highest elevation in the city of Cologne. It is located in the Rath/Heumar district about 1250 meters as the crow flies south of the A4 on the Wolfsweg between the Pionier-Hütten-Weg junction and the intersection with the Brück-Forsbacher Weg. Monte Troodelöh lies on a rising slope in the Königsforst. Above (east) of the Wolfsweg, the terrain rises to about 130 meters; this mountain peak has no name. It belongs to the Bensberg district of the city of Bergisch Gladbach, as the Wolfsweg forms the border with the Cologne urban area at this point.
Until 1999, the point was largely unknown. At that time, the highest point in Cologne was given as 116.7 m above sea level. On November 12th of that year, a small group of city employees hiked to this spot and set up a temporary summit cross. After the city's property, surveying and cadastre office re-measured the area in 2000, the height was corrected to 118.04 m above sea level.
In 2001, under the leadership of the Rhineland-Cologne section of the German Alpine Association, a new summit cross with a bronze plaque on which the actual height was noted was installed. Shortly afterwards, the cross was replaced by the forestry administration with a boulder, which now bears the plaque. In the same year, the point was named after the surnames of the three "discoverers" Troost, Dedden and Löhmer after a competition in the city's employee newspaper. The BBBank donated a bench for hikers. A summit book was installed, but it was stolen or destroyed several times due to vandalism.
Today, Monte Troodelöh is part of numerous route suggestions in local hiking and Cologne literature and is considered a tourist attraction, although it offers neither a view nor a gastronomic infrastructure. It is included in the Cologne Path circular hiking trail of the Cologne Eifel Association.
