Very nice view of the level tower at Goitzsche See.

The special thing about it is that the tower floats on the surface of the Goitzsche See!

The height of the tower is 26 meters, the number of steps is 144!
The level tower was built of steel, the construction costs amounted to around 5.5 million DM!
Construction started on June 6, 1999,
Completion was on June 9, 2000.

The level tower offers you an ideal view of the Goitzschesee and its surroundings. Secretly it is already considered the new landmark of the city of Bitterfeld and the Goitzsche.

Two counter-rotating spiral staircases allow the entrance and exit in the level tower. It offers a perfect all-round view of Lake Goitzschesee as well as the places Friedersdorf, Bitterfeld, Mühlbeck and Pouch, and with good visibility even as far as Leipzig.

    Facts and figures:

    Height: 26 meters
    Number of steps: 144
    Material: steel
Construction costs: approx. 5.5 million DM
Start of construction: June 6, 1999
    Completion: June 9, 2000
Length of the pier (pontoon bridge): 190 meters
    Number of pontoons: 24

From above a beautiful view. -
The entire visible tower floats on the water surface of the Großer Goitzschesees and is guided inside by a support that is firmly anchored in a solid concrete foundation on the bottom of the lake

On June 6, 1999, the construction of the 5.5 million expensive gauge tower began in the immediate vicinity of the flooding system. The special thing about it: the water level tower floats on the surface of the Goitzschesees! It can only be reached via a pontoon bridge that rises when the water rises.

Hurricane Kyrill destroyed the floating pier to the level tower on January 18, 2007 - in 2009 the pier was rebuilt similar to the previous one.

    Facts and figures:

    Height: 26 meters
    Number of steps: 144
    Material: steel
Construction costs: approx. 5.5 million DM
Start of construction: June 6, 1999
    Completion: June 9, 2000
Length of the pier (pontoon bridge): 190 meters
    Number of pontoons: 24
