Haffkrug is a village of the municipality Scharbeutz in Schleswig-Holstein with 1,824 inhabitants (as of March 2011).Haffkrug is located in the western Lübeck Bay and can be reached via the Federal Highway 1. Haffkrug has been allowed to wear the title of a medicinal bath since 1813, since 1970 it has been a seaside spa. Since January 1974 Haffkrug is a district of Scharbeutz. It stretches just under two kilometers on the Baltic Sea beach.From the pier from trips are offered by boat, z. B. to Lübeck-Travemünde or direction Grömitz. In summer, celebrations such as the "Aalwoche" are celebrated at the open-air stage at the Kurparkhaus. There are several hotels and restaurants as well as various beach shops. Haffkrug came into the public interest after plans were announced to redesign the naturally grown coastal landscape in order to build a marina. This project is still discussed controversially.Directly at the exit 15 (Haffkrug / Eutin) of the A 1 is a memorial cemetery for the dead of the Cap Arcona and Thielbek catastrophe, are buried on the victims of the sinking of Cap Arcona and Thielbek.Source: Wikipedia

From Sierksdorf to Scharbeutz there is a great promenade path that connects the small but beautiful spa towns. The beaches are great, the atmosphere is great, there is a lot to discover and plenty of things to do, especially in the season. Many offers are free and there are lots of parties for partygoers.
