When you are at the top and the tower is open, invest the 50 cents entrance fee for the visit, because the view from the tower of the surrounding area is awesome, and even the steep trail ascent from Pfullingen is worthwhile.

It's just nice up there. There is a lot going on on weekends, but during the week you are mostly alone.

On Sundays (in the season) the Albverein is on site, accordingly many hikers, they also have red sausages for grilling (equipment is available on site) to buy lard bread and drinks. A lot of (and sometimes demanding trails) in the corner, Wackerstein is not far either ...

Beautiful view of the Echaz valley, the Reutlingen local mountains Achalm and Georgenberg, the Albtrauf and towards Stuttgart.
In front of the tower there are a few benches and a fireplace that invite you to linger.

Enjoy the view, then pack sausages on the barbecue areas and linger. Great place

Awesome view. I have lived in Reutlingen for 17 years and have been there for the first time. 😅 Just great. The tower in particular is being renovated but you can still go up.
