1316 are mentioned in the book of the Nuremberg Klarissenklosters "Bvchelin, Nidernbuch". The place name is based on a homonymous field name, which is derived from the Middle High German word "buoch" (= beech) with diminutive suffix and therefore means smaller beech forest. In a document of 1340, the Nuremberg city court testifies that the Nuremberg citizen Seitz Ellwanger von Ritter Heinrich von Buttendorf u. a. bought four goods in "Püchlein". Originally, the place consisted of two farms.

Towards the end of the 18th century there were 4 households in Unterbüchlein. The high court and the village and community rule exercised the brandenburg-ansbach judges office Rosstal. Landlords were the caste Cadolzburg (1 courtyard, 2 semi-courts) and the Provincial Alms Office of the imperial city of Nuremberg (1 Good). 1802 there were still 4 households in the same place with the same landlord conditions.

Unterbüchlein was assigned to the tax district of Großweismannsdorf, which was formed in 1808 as part of the community edict. It belonged to the founded in the same year Ruralgemeinde Gutzberg.

On 1 July 1972 Unterbüchlein came with the community Gutzberg to stone.
