Aillac is a former French community with 127 inhabitants (as of 1954).
Aillac was incorporated in February 1961 in the community Carsac -de-Carlux, which henceforth bears the name Carsac-Aillac, and has since been one of their districts.
The name in the Occitan language is Alhac and goes back to a person named "Allius" in Gallo-Roman times.
