The New Castle in Ingolstadt is one of the most important secular buildings of the 15th century in Bavaria. The oldest parts of the complex go back to a city castle of Duke Ludwig VII of Bavaria-Ingolstadt from the 1430s. Between about 1470 and 1490, the New Castle by Duke Louis IX. Bayern-Landshut and his son Duke George the Rich of Bavaria Landshut considerably expanded and expanded into a modern residence. The New Palace now houses the Bavarian Army Museum.
