Oprtalj is a little ancient town on the ridge opposite to Motovun (other side of the river Mirna). One of the most popular climbs in Istra leads from Mirna (village Livade) to Oprtalj, with renowned switchbacks. It is particularly attractive in spring as the pine resin starts melting.
