When the community of Haseldorf was offered an old "Bandreißerkate" (a former band-reinforcement farm) in 1992, those responsible recognized the opportunity to preserve their village's valuable history and acquired the thatched-roof cottage, built in 1764.Since the "Bandreißer" (a former band-reinforcement farm) Hermann Lüchau was the last resident of the house,
the building, located on the dike, is also known as the "Lüchaukate" (a former thatched cottage).After extensive renovation work and careful redesign,
