The "Hohle Linde" is a striking old tree in Obermarbach and a registered natural monument in Upper Bavaria.
The linden tree stands northeast of Petershausen in the Obermarbach district of the Dachau district on a ravine.
The tree has a strong, largely hollow, short and steeply sloping trunk. A thick branch has broken off on one side, which is still evidenced by a large cavity. Several strong branches emerge from the trunk, forming a vital crown.
The lime tree is secured on the side of the slope that slopes at 45° by numerous strong roots.
In 1994, the linden tree had a trunk circumference of 10.2 meters and its age is estimated at 300-400 years. (Source Wikipedia)
