Schutzalf and Klosterweiher are simply part of a round through "Strohner Schweiz"!

Not far from the Schutzalf lies the idyllic monastery pond in the midst of beautiful nature. Also a beautiful one
Space to rest. If you pass the Schutzalf, it's definitely worth visiting!

The Mückelner Klosterweiher is located on the district boundary to Strohn. It was laid out around 1490 by the Springiersbach monastery - the landlords in Mückeln - and was probably maintained by the court tenant in Sprink. The 7000 square meter fish pond served to supply the monastery. In 1813, French soldiers retreating from Russia destroyed the pond. To satisfy your hunger and get to the fish faster, they opened the dam. In 1986, the local community of Mückeln replanted the pond.

The pond has also found its way into the local coat of arms; the wavy line in the lower part of the coat of arms and the 4 crosses symbolize the monastery pond and the manorial power of the Augustinian monastery in Springiersbach.
