The castle pond is in the heart of Buschhoven. Surrounded by the churches of the two major denominations, Toniusplatz and Köllenhof, it still shapes the town center today. Its origins go back to Roman times. From 796 it served as a moat for Buschhoven Castle and the castle courtyard for almost 1000 years. Hence his name.
