Why is it worth making a detour here? The pilgrimage church can be seen from afar and "towers" over the landscape. The exuberant baroque interior is definitely worth a look.

The St. Leonhard Church in Inchenhofen was one of the most important places of pilgrimage in Europe in the 14th century. A sign of the many iron gifts that have been sacrificed over the years is the "Leonhard's nail" melted from them, which stands in front of the church.
The main attraction every year is probably the oldest Leonhardiritt in Bavaria, which was introduced in 1457. Festively decorated carriages with scenes from the life of the saints with around 200 horses and hundreds of participants attract many thousands of visitors in November.
