Here, as can be read on the billboard, towards the end of the Second World War, charcoal was produced as "alternative fuel" for the forestry service vehicles.
After the end of the war, the ovens were operated for about six years by the French occupation forces. The combustion chambers are still in good condition - an exciting stopover.
