Have just been sent back (January 2021) by the mountain rescue service on the way to the "steep ascent" because a man had an accident on this way. The highlight is not worth the risk. Not recommendable.

In February 23 on dry days, the steep descent to the tunnel is currently not a risk and completely relaxed - although not a path for Insta pompom slippers.
The walk is worth it, the levada and the tunnel that follows are spectacular.
