The Ferndorfquelle is the origin of Ferndorfbach, a 24 kilometer tributary of Sieg. After the source was "renatured" in 2014, there is no single source (with concrete enclosure) anymore, but again an original "source nest" with several sources and one main source. Above the source nest is the so-called viewing nest, from which you have a good view of the headwaters of Ferndorfbach.

After the source was renatured, but the nest was not well received by hikers and locals and quickly disintegrated, the source area was rebuilt. A successful rest area, where you have access to the spring water again.

A very nicely laid out place with very good access to the spring water. However, the source now corresponds to a stainless steel tube, so that the actual origin can no longer be seen.
