First documented mention of the place 1181 as Sorbian place. The manor is first mentioned in 1329, then most likely a moated castle. The manor house from 1445, the northern part of which was once a fortress of the burgraves of Altenburg. The current building was built in 1543 and today houses both community and association administration.
