  • Around the Donoper pond there are very beautiful hiking trails, in addition to the well-known Hermannsweg as a long-distance hiking trail offers on the ground of the climatic adventure trail, detailed information is also available in the hiking center WALK. When hiking on unknown routes, I recommend in addition to Komoot the APP Teutonavigator

  • The Donoper pond as a destination is always worth it, whether for a short walk or as the starting point for an extended hike.
    The Hermannsweg runs along here.

  • The oldest traces of human presence in the area of today's Donoperteich are some 0.5 to 1.7 meter high burial mounds, which are assigned to the transition from the Late Bronze Age to the Early Iron Age (approx. 600 to 800 BC). The graves made of sand and sandstone with a diameter of nine to 23 meters are located on the west bank of the water and today only give a small impression of the size of the burial mounds that were once there. The archaeological finds are kept in the Lippisches Landesmuseum in Detmold.

  • The Donoperteich (also Donoper pond) is located in a much visited nature reserve on the border of Detmold hamlets Hiddesen and Pivitsheide V. H. in the Teutoburg Forest. The pond and the surrounding area was placed under protection on 4 April 1950 together with the Hiddeser Bent and is considered by its scenic diversity and beauty to the most popular destinations in Lippe. It was built around 1625 at the behest of Simon VII for fish farming and named after the chamberlain of Donop.

  • With many hiking trails around it a great place to stay, take a break or cool your feet. With dog, bike or on foot, also in the afternoon here has opened a snack. There are no toilets.

  • At Donoper pond you can relax on good trails. At the dam, there are some seating options to take a break. Some benches also have a table for a relaxed picnic.

  • The Donoper pond from the other side. The path is a bit rustic and rooted.

  • The trail is nice at the beginning in the north of the Donoper pond. Later it becomes more and more closely and above all overgrown with small conifers. I had difficulties with the path because I don't want to break or crush anything, especially in the nature reserve. Next time I'll stay a bit west on the bigger road.

  • No longer recommended because it is often overgrown, you have to find your way. Currently, the foothills in the direction of the Krebsteich have also been completely made unrecognizable by forest work.

  • The water is already very close to the bank. It's very flat here. We looked at the underwater world with an endoscope camera. Overall, I had imagined the pond to be larger.
