The notorious "Frankenführer", Gauleiter and publisher of the anti-Semitic Hetzblatt "Der Stürmer" Julius Streicher acquired this approx. 80 ha large estate in 1936 for 300,000 Reichsmarks and completely rebuilt it according to his ideas (since then also "Streicherhof"). In February 1940, he was exiled to the court for corruption by Hitler ("house arrest"), while keeping the "title" Frankenführer, but was not allowed to enter Nuremberg.
From December 1945, the Pleikershof served at the instigation of the Americans as a refugee camp for Jewish "displaced persons" who founded the "Kibbutz Nili" here. By the end of 1948, 150 Jews were preparing to emigrate to Palestine by working in agriculture.
Macabreically, the Americans left the farm in the condition Streicher had left so that the Jewish emigrants were confronted with signs like "Without solution of the Jewish question there is no solution to the world question" and with issues of the "Stürmer" and "Mein Kampf" saw (source: Nestmeyer, Franconia, Michael Müller Verlag, 7th ed. 2016, p. 105)
