The former fortress Kraftstein was founded around 1100 by the Lords of Wartenberg and sold to the city of Mühlheim in 1386. The weir system fell into disrepair in the 15th century. A ditch and remains of the residential tower on a steep hill above the Ursental valley are still preserved today.
