Kiechlinsbergen, which originally was only called Bergen, then to distinguish from Oberbergen - more often called Unterbergen - which probably settled from him, has its current name from the Küchlin knights of Freiburg, who had a farm as bailiffs of the Andlau monastery. For the first time it was called "ze hern Küchelins Bergen" in 1309. Like the neighboring towns, Kiechlinsbergen is an old Frankish royal estate and was first mentioned in 862. Around 880 at the Alsatian monastery of Andlau, which played a dominant role in the history of the village until 1682.
