Bike Touring Highlight
Here on the eastern edge of the seaside resort Prerow, the dune rises to a height of at least 13m. That does not sound like much, but it's enough for a unique view. The view sweeps over the outer beach from Darßer place to Zingst and with good visibility on to Hiddensee. On the south side, the Prerow current winds up to the Bodden chain. About 150 years ago this still represented a navigable connection of the Bodden with the sea and the Zingst was an independent island.

We always passed this viewpoint on the way from Born to the dog beach. With a height of 13 meters, the Hohe Düne forms the largest elevation in the wider area. The little effort is worth it. There is a wooden lookout tower on the dune. From there you can enjoy the view of the sea, the Prerowstrom and the Bodden landscape.

An absolute top beach, with turquoise green shallow water. Very suitable for children, as some prills form for splashing. There is a small surf school and cocktail bar where you can rent SUP's, surfboards and even catamarans! At the pier there are beach chairs and excellent rest stops. I would recommend the back area at the rainbow campsite. It is very quiet here.

A small viewing platform with a view of the Prerowstrom and the Baltic Sea. You can read what the Prerowstrom is on Wkipedia (de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prerower_Strom). In good weather you can see as far as the island of Hiddensee. You can see the Bakenberg from the island. At about 72.7 m above sea level, it is the highest point on the island. Unfortunately the trees are taller than the platform and have to see through between the trees. Binoculars are a must
