Hiking
In 1947 the company "Stolberger Zink" started with test drilling in this area. It was found that this was a large area with a thickness of about 20 m. Above this, however, 70 m of bedrock were stored. The metal content was relatively poor at about 3.5%.
From 1948, galena and sphalerite were mined. The Knottenerze (ore grains) had to be elaborately processed. Part of this complex can still be seen on the other side of the county road, but today it is used differently.
