In 1694 the beneficiary at the time, Johannes Lidl, reported to the clergy in Munich that the church in Niklasreuth was “pauvullible” and “reparations were necessary”. According to the chronicle, this was first mentioned in a document in 1315 as a branch of the Irschenberg church and was probably built in the late Romanesque style. Lidl then hired the renowned master mason Hans Mayr to convert the gloomy sacred space into a light-flooded, baroque ship. Just three years later, on August 14, 1697, the Prince Bishop of Freising consecrated the completely renovated parish church of St. Nicholas. The final point, however, was the raising of the tower in 1708.

Beautiful landscape, towards Bad Tölz it goes up and down from peak to peak, sometimes up to 18% but very nice.

The Church of St. Nicholas is beautifully situated on a slope in a beautiful landscape.
